Newcastle United are considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain youngster Tanguy Kouassi as our strength in the transfer market could bolster, according to reports.

This comes as The Times reported this week that retail tycoon has agreed to sell us for £300m to a consortium made up from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), and backed by Amanda Staveley and the Reuben brothers.

If this takeover goes through, it could potentially be a huge step forward for us and will make us an attracting prospect to players across Europe.

It looks as if we are preparing for this scenario. According to Le 10 Sport, the Magpies are “monitoring with great attention” the 17-year-old’s situation as he was continuing his player development at the Parc des Princes before the football was suspended.

Should Newcastle sign Tanguy Kouassi?

Considered as the “next Marcel Desailly“, Kouassi is highly rated by the French media and has already strung some impressive performances together in the French capital.

The youngster has also been linked with the likes of RB LeipzigLeeds United in the past but Newcastle could potentially leapfrog both teams in the queue for his services next summer.

Despite his young age, Kouassi has been a regular first-teamer in Thomas Tuchel’s side and has scored three goals in 14 appearances for Les Parisiens.

The France U18 international has a bright future in the game. The fact he is getting so much game time for a top European side indicates how talented Kouassi is.

Our takeover will help us significantly in our aim to sign players. Bringing in this young talent would be a sensible move but not without some serious competition.
