Few things anger Newcastle fans more than a lack of transfer action. We’ve really struggled to improve over the last few years, with poor investment leading to even poorer performances on the field.
Unfortunately, though, it doesn’t look like we’ve learned our lesson. According to the Chronicle Live, we’re now baulking at the contractual demands of our main target – Miguel Almiron – with the attacker said to be demanding £100,000-per-week.
Now, make no mistake, that’s a big sum of money to be demanding, and Almiron will likely have to reduce his demands to get his Premier League move – whether that be at Newcastle or somewhere else – but still, this is indicative of a bigger problem at St James’ Park.
Our team is just not being invested in, and if that continues, we’re only going to get worse and, eventually, we’ll lose our spot in the Premier League.
Unsurprisingly, this news has generated a lot of anger amongst Newcastle fans online. In response to the news, Newcastle fans are eager for the club to just spend the cash – because Almiron is worth it.
See below:
Seemingly #nufc aren't willing to pay Almiron the 100k pw wages he's demanding. I presume we would be willing to pay him 70k pw as we have other players on that. That's a difference of about 1.5m a year. Relegation would cost a lot more than the 5 year contract difference

Being cheap in the short term costs you money in the long term,if you need convinced look at Ashley`s transfer past
Could of signed Modric,Aubameyang,Alli,Lacazette,Van Dijk for pennies
They`re now worth probably twice the cost of #NUFC
No lessons learned with Almiron

Mike Ashley needs to support Rafa with the priority players he's literally begging for. Rondon has ensured #nufc are not yet in relegation spots & will pull away as the season goes on. Almiron will add the cutting edge & goals the team has sorely missed. 100k is not astronomical

Does it matter what he wants for wages? We wont even pay the transfer fee anyway #NUFC

The longer we wait, the more games go by, and the stronger chance of us going down with the limited attacking ability in our squad.
