Lots of Newcastle fans on Twitter have discussed whether they would rather see Rafael Benitez back at the club or stick with Steve Bruce.
The Chronicle posted a story discussing how talkSPORT pundits Adrian Durham and Darren Bent discussed whether they are better off with or without their former Spanish coach.
Benitez obviously left in the summer with the manager claiming the board being a distance apart in their long-term vision for the club. Amid his departure, many feared that the club would be sent back into the second-tier as Steve Bruce was decided as the replacement, however, things haven’t followed that narrative thus far.
Comparatively to this point last season under Benitez, United are currently eight points the better and four positions higher in the table, so there can really be no complaints with that.
With The Chronicle’s Twitter page tweeting about the story, lost of fans replied weighing in with their opinions about whether they would have Benitez back.
The majority of claims seemed to want him to return, hardly surprising given his reputation within the game and within the North East.
Here are some of the replies below…
Don’t care what Talksport think? Me personally i would have Rafa back in a heartbeat.

Whoever asks that questing is backward and should never comment on anything to do with football again

Every day of the week and twice on Sunday. There is NO comparison.,

In a heartbeat. Give him the money Bruce has had to spend and let him spend it as he sees fit then start comparing. Realistically it’s not going to happen and this is getting boring though. We are stuck with Bruce, we won’t go down but we won’t push on either #NUFC

Although Bruce has done better than I thought, I’d still go and pick Rafa up if ye like.

Lots have begrudged Mike Ashley for getting the chequebook out now and not under Benitez.
Ashley added one more to the club yesterday, with 25-year-old midfielder Nabil Bentaleb joining until the end of the season.
