Rodrigo Oliviera, a Brazilian journalist has touted Newcastle as one of Neymar’s only two options going into next season. (via The Express).
Oliviera has said that Neymar, who has seemingly fallen out of favour at French champions, Paris Saint-Germain, has two options to revive his career next season: Stay at PSG and fight for his place, or join the only club that could afford his ridiculous financial package – Saudi backed Newcastle United.
While at no point does the article suggest that Newcastle would even be interested in such a move, you could almost see the cloud of carbon dioxide rising up above Newcastle city centre as everyone let out an exasperated sigh to accompany their eye roll.
Neymar is an undeinable talent, but his temperament leaves a lot to be desired, and as Eddie Howe as said in several interviews, he only wants players who are going to add to the family feel within the club, so a giant ego like that of Neymar would be an absolute non-starter.
The only way this gets done is if the owners get desperate for a big named star to come into the club in order to flex their muscles and signify their intent to assault the Premier League next season …… Which is absolutely not going to happen. Amanda Staveley has outlined that their plan is to grow steadily and going for someone like Neymar flies in the face of that idea.
