Newcastle United’s prospective £300m takeover is still yet to be given the green light by the Premier League, leaving many of us frustrated, although former Sunday Mirror chief football writer Paul Smith has delivered an encouraging update.
Will Newcastle's takeover be announced in June?
Yes, 100%

He tweeted on Sunday that the Saudi consortium haven’t even considered failing the owners and directors test, showing just how confident they are in the deal going through.
Smith said:
#NUFCTakeover To be as positive as I can the Saudi’s have not given a second thought to failing the @premierleague ‘Owners and Directors’ test such is their confidence that despite unnecessary delays the deal will go through #NUFC

We’re well past two months since news first broke that Mike Ashley was finally going to sell up and give us all exactly what we’re wanting – a fresh new era at St James’ Park.
His 13-year reign has been full of disappointment, summed up by two relegations to the Championship and a serious lack of progress on the pitch.
It’s a rather positive sign that the would-be owners are confident, so we should be too.
