Newcastle United’s takeover is edging ever closer to approval with optimism starting to increase in Saudi Arabia, according to journalist Miles Starforth.
The Shields Gazette reporter delivered this fresh update to Twitter on Thursday afternoon but did warn that a decision would have ‘huge implications’.
He said:
There's optimism in Saudi Arabia that the PL will soon approve the proposed takeover, but caution on Tyneside ahead of a decision which will have huge implications for Newcastle. #nufc https://t.co/qvYgBHzrm4

In the article accompanying his tweet, Starforth goes on to claim that this week is a significant one for the club on the pitch with an FA Cup quarter-final tie on Sunday.
But off the field, there is still caution over the deal after weeks of setbacks, although he does further claim that a decision is due soon.
What is encouraging, however, is the fact that the noise coming from the Saudi state is majorly positive, so much so that they are confident it will be approved in the coming days.
Can NUFC win silverware within 5 years under the Saudi's?
Yes!
No!
The kingdom announced at the weekend that they would be clamping down on the issue of piracy in the country, which is thought to have handed the £300m takeover a major boost.
And after 12 weeks of uncertainty, it’s about time the Premier League came to an outcome, but for now, it still remains to be seen when that might be.
