Manchester United signing Casemiro looked to be affected Newcastle in that Real Madrid were looking to Bruno Guimaraes as his replacement, however, TalkSPORT are claiming that the signing may lead to an incoming transfer for the Geordies.
Alongside, Everton, Leicester and West Ham, TalkSPORT claim Newcastle are interested in Scottish midfielder, Scott McTominay who looks set to lose his place in the starting lineup under Erik ten Hag when Casemiro arrives.
When McTominay burst onto the scene under Jose Mourinho he looked like a world-beater. Mourinho named him his player of the season, but since then it’s been a steady decline for McTominay, much like it has for Manchester United.

Paul Scholes has pointed the finger at McTominay in recent times saying “With Fred and McTominay, he [Ten Hag] is going to have to go with just one of them but even one of them is probably too many.”
That doesn’t exactly inspire confidence, however, at 25, McTominay has plenty of time to rediscover his form and under Eddie Howe, he could definitely do that. With that being said, I don’t see him as being an upgrade on Sean Longstaff, so I don’t think there’s much in this rumour.
