Real Madrid Want Bruno To Replace Casemiro

|

I was just going to write “ha” 250 times for this article as the notion that Bruno would leave us now is just beyond laughable, but I suppose that won’t quite suffice, so I’ll use actual words.

Manchester United are keen to bring Casemiro to Old Trafford from Real Madrid, and it’s believed the player is keen to join up with Erik ten Hag and Real Madrid have eyed Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes as his replacement as reported in The Express.

Bruno who only arrived at St James’ Park in January is a fan favourite after quickly adapting to life in the Premier League. His five goals at the back end of last season helped Newcastle to an 11th place finish and he’s gone on to become the first name on Eddie Howe’s team sheet alongside his Brazilian compatriot, Joelinton. He also recently declared that Newcastle “feels like home”, so the idea that he would be open to a move away already, even to a club like Real Madrid, seems ridiculous.

Equally, it would be very unlikely that Newcastle, who are currently trying to build a squad to challenge for titles, would sell their best asset as opposed to building the squad around him.

If The Money Was Right Should We Cash In On Bruno?

Not for any money

Yup. Money talks

Yes, football is a business and our owners are savvy business people who love money, but even if they were to double their money on Bruno, I can’t see them taking it. It would change the entire identity of the club again – Instead of a club that wants to challenge at the top, we’d be seen as a stepping stone for top players to get their dream move and that’s exactly what we’re trying to move away from.

In his press conference today Eddie Howe claimed that Bruno is “all in” at Newcastle, shutting down the rumour before it gets out of control.

There are so many things that go against the idea of this deal working and only one in favour – money – and that’s not something our owners are short of.
