When it comes to scoring goals, Newcastle are struggling this season.
They’ve managed just four which is less than the five that Aleksandar Mitrovic, who we sold to Fulham this summer has scored.
But, the pain gets worse.
Back in the summer, it was decided that it would be a good idea to swap, on a loan basis, Dwight Gayle with Salomon Rondon.
It’s a move that is starting to look as if it is going to haunt us.
Gayle, as the graphic below depicts:
LOAN WATCH: Dwight Gayle netted for @WBA at the weekend, while Dan Barlaser made his first league start for @ASFCofficial.

Has already gotten amongst the goals at West Bromwich Albion whilst Rondon has yet to get off the mark.
Social media is alive with comments from Newcastle fans having their say on the situation:
Got rid of him and Mitrovic and kept Joselu

Imagine having Gayle and Mitro as an option up top then thinking Rondon and Joselu are the better option ????

Keep Gayle and Mitro or get Rondon on loan… I know which I would have preferred

Missed a few last season but ludicrous to let him go ! Keeps defenders on their toes and has always scored goals . But some clown thought the awful Rondon would be a better option!

Did we do the right thing?
Will things start to get better from here on in?
Or has somebody made a bad judgement call?
