Krzysztof Piatek has allegedly been told he can leave Milan this January window, though it seems he doesn’t quite fancy that move, according to reports.

Calciomercato has reported that the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic has meant that they are willing to listen to offers for the Polish forward, but quite simply, he doesn’t really fancy a move to the lower echelons of the Premier League.

It is said that AC Milan are willing to listen to offers upwards of €35m – the amount they paid for him in January last season.

The same story suggests that Piatek expects a project ‘more to his liking’, therefore, he has no interest in moving to the North East, or to Aston Villa or Bayer Leverkusen, who are also interested.

One move that could be to his liking is Tottenham Hotspur. Rumours have suggested that Jose Mourinho is considering a move for the forward as a backup to Harry Kane, who was today ruled out until at least April. The England captain has a ruptured tendon in his left hamstring and subsequently needs to undergo surgery.

Is Joelinton getting unfairly treated by fans?

Nope, he doesn't deserve decent treatment

We need to get behind him; not at him

With the previous in mind, Piatek – if bought by Spurs – would be likely to get first-team football for at least four months or so, and that is likely to sound good to the 24-year-old.

While there is a lot of hype around the striker, there are no assurances for Newcastle that spending £30m or so on him would guarantee success or even goals at the club.

The Italian giants seem very easy about letting him leave, and considering they spent €35m on him just a year ago, it’s not the best reference for the forward.

There’s no doubt that he would seriously strengthen the options for Steve Bruce’s attack, but would it be wise to spend another huge amount of money on a striker? This season, he has scored just four goals from 18 games in the leageu, three of which have been penalties.

His overall record is stronger in Serie A with 26 in 55, however, he has only played 55 games at that level anyway, so there’s no insurance he would be able to replicate that in the Premier League, especially with Steve Bruce’s defensive tactics.
