Isak Is A Magpie!

|

This afternoon Newcastle confirmed that Swedish International, Alexander Isak has signed for the club.

Isak becomes Newcastle’s record signing by a big margin, eclipsing the £40m spent on Joelinton by almost £20m, however, the Swede isn’t feeling the pressure that can come with a big-money move. When asked how it feels to be the club’s record signing during his NUFC TV interview, Isak said: “I just play my football, do my best. Those parts are for the other guys to take care of. Of course, that comes with a responsibility and obviously, I’ll give my best and do my all to help this club reach its goals”

Taking the number 14 shirt, Isak should be available to be in the match squad for Sunday’s trip to Wolves and was spotted at the training ground this morning. Having already scored for Real Sociedad this season against Barcelona he has said that he is fit and ready to go.

If Isak Is Our Last Incoming Deal Has This Been A Good Window?

Absolutely

We are still one player short

It can’t really be overstated what a significant signing this is for Newcastle. At 22 years old, Isak has a long career ahead of him and still has room to improve on what are already extremely impressive stats. Isak has been compared to Swedish legend, Zlatan Ibrahimovic on several occasions, and if he were to get close to that level, Newcastle should be putting the fear into a lot of clubs in the Premier League right now.

When Callum Wilson regains fitness, Eddie Howe has said in this morning’s briefing that he will look to play both forwards together which would be an exciting prospect. This could turn out to be a deadly partnership.
