Plenty of Newcastle United fans have been having their say about the latest update about the club’s takeover.
There has been plenty of talk over the past few weeks in relation to the Saudi-funded PCP Capital Partners’ £300m bid to takeover the Tyneside club.
The Times reported in April that a nine-figure sum had been agreed for the sale of the club. However, the Daily Mail revealed that the Premier League are asking them fresh question about Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and their involvement with human rights and pirate television.
Will PIF takeover the club?
Yes
No
George Caulkin of The Athletic was asked by a fan on Twitter on when the last time he spoke to the proposed new owners were, in which he responded the last contact was Monday. He also stressed that there is “overwhelming positivity” on the buyer’s behalf, but gave no indication as to when this would be completed.
With this in mind, supporters were left frustrated by the latest takeover update and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that the news got him “triggered”, while another stated that it was “back to realism” for the supporters.
There’s no rush. It’ll happen. Dunno why everyone is frantic to get the deal done. Not like any football is gonna occur soon. Altho I know there’s a lot of chilled #cans to be had haha.

Back to realism it is… not much has actually been done officially so its blind hope now. Oh well.

The main and only issue for me, is the exclusivity. What happens if that runs out? They can say “Take as long as it takes” but they’re technically on a time limit https://t.co/IpgPCSXiWx
