A lot of Newcastle United fans are delighted with the performances of Federico Fernandez but are unsure of who is the best centre-back at the club.
The Argentine got his first Newcastle goal on Saturday with a looping header over West Ham keeper Roberto – who was stranded.
This made it a goal, and one assist from Fernandez’s two starts this season, and he has turned out to be an absolute bargain at £6m.
This season he has an average rating of 6.82 has won 1.6 tackles per game and 1.4 aerial duels per game.
The performance of Fernandez, though, sparked a debate on who Newcastle’s best defender is, with some fans thinking that it is Florian Lejeune or Fabian Schar.

However, the truth is that the Toon have six players who can play at centre-back and they all are solid Premier League defenders.
In terms of a set, Newcastle have never had better.
