‘Hope we get rid of all 3’ – Loads of Newcastle fans react to damning report on Toon trio

Loads of Newcastle supporters have been reacting on social media to a damning report by the Daily Mail, which claimed Jonjo Shelvey and Karl Darlow were involved in a 3am melee ahead of United’s pre-season tour of China.

The duo are understood to have spent a night out together with Jack Colback and a group of friends the day before the first-team flew out to the Far East, with a fracas believed to have been triggered when Shelvey was called a “bald ****” whilst ordering in a takeaway pizza establishment.

Former England international and United’s highest earner at a reported £70,000-a-week Shelvey fired back with “go back to your council house, you peasant” during a twenty-minute exchange, before a fight broke out in the street seven hours before the midfielder and Darlow joined the rest of the first-team on-board United’s China-bound plane.

Footage of the incident appears to show Darlow kicking a man in the back once he had fallen to the ground after punches were thrown by one of the goalkeeper’s friends, with Shelvey attempting to force his way into the melee only to be pushed back.

Newcastle declined to comment on the incident when approached by the Daily Mail, while Northumberland Police were not called to the scene.

Here’s how these United supporters have reacted to the damning report…
