Plenty of Newcastle United fans have been throwing their weight behind Matty Longstaff and hope he sticks around the new prospective owners.
The 20-year-old has experienced Premier League football for the first time in his career during the current campaign with Steve Bruce granting him the opportunity to play alongside his brother Sean in midfield.
Longstaff has scored two goals from six starts, including the winner during our fabulous 1-0 victory against Manchester United earlier in the season.
Should we keep Matty Longstaff?
Yes
No
The England U20 international has been lauded by his teammates since his step up, particularly by Jetro Willems following a Q&A with fans on social media.
With this in mind, supporters were keen to keep hold of the younger Longstaff and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he is a “bright prospect” and “deserves a chance”, while another described as a “hugely respected” player on Tyneside.
He’s a bright prospect and deserves a chance. Lots of good players even go on loan before they find their feet. Sign him on @nufc & don’t let another local talent leave the North East.

He would be silly to leave. He’s hugely respected and he’s a local lad. ⚫️⚪️

Would be an easy win for the new owners to help get fans on their side

Both him and his brother need to be on long term deals
