Lots of Newcastle fans have all discussed the next steps for Dwight Gayle – and the future doesn’t look particularly bright for him in the eyes of supporters.
Asked by the Chronicle’s United specific Twitter page whether or not they would keep the 30-year-old, there were many who responded saying that they should cash in on the attacker while they can.
The player has been at the club for quite some time now after joining for around £10m in the summer of 2016 from Crystal Palace. Since then, his time on Tyneside has been a bit of a mixed bag.
In his 76 games, he has managed to score 29 goals for the club, including eight assists, though 23 of them came in his first season in just 32 games.
Should Bruce sell or play Gayle?
Just let him go in January
Give him some game time
Since being in the Premier League again it has been a struggle for consistent football. So much so that he went back on loan to the Championship last season at West Brom, managing to score 23 goals once more, giving him a bit of a reputation for being a second-tier specialist.
With his Championship record being so impressive, it is likely that there are many teams in the league below willing to spend at least £10m on him (his Transfermarkt value).
Toon fans certainly think they should part with him, as you can read below…
if we get a good price I'd let him go and sign Bowen from Hull… ain't going to happen though that's way too obvious for NUFC

Considering that his contract expires in 2021 and he is currently the third choice behind Joelinton and Andy Carroll, now might be the time to cash in on him.
