Plenty of Newcastle United fans have been drooling over the prospect of Mauricio Pochettino taking the manager’s role at St James’ Park.
According to Sky Sports, the former Tottenham Hotspur boss is top of our prospective new owners’ list to sit in the hot seat at St James’ Park.
The Argentinian tactician has a reputation as a top-class manager after the work he has carried out during his time in the Premier League, particularly with Spurs.
Pochettino sensationally guided the north London side to the Champions League final last season after his team’s amazing comeback against Ajax.
Would you bring Mauricio Pochettino to Newcastle?
Yes
No
Having been sacked by Spurs before Christmas, he is now without work and could be an option to Newcastle depending on a few factors.
Firstly, the future of Steve Bruce needs to be addressed and whether he will be kept on next season. With the club on the brink of being taken over by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, the club’s status will inevitably ascend and attract bigger names to Tyneside.
Unsurprisingly, supporters salivated over the possibility of bringing Pochettino to the club and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he would have him “every day of the week”, while another said that he gets his vote.
Gets my vote

Perfect for Newcastle. Pressing teams higher up the pitch would get people off their seats at home instead of everyone behind the ball. Momentum comes from there!
