Plenty of Newcastle United fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that Valentino Lazaro is open to a permanent deal at the club.

With the player’s agent stating before that his main focus is on a return to the Inter Milan at the end of the campaign, an interview with NUFC TV suggests that he might be keen to stay beyond his loan spell.

He said (via The Chronicle): “Of course, it’s something special. Let’s hope it’s going to be a great start to maybe a great and long story.

“The number one reason is, of course, playing time.

“That’s what it’s all about. I want to play more again and show my abilities.”

The 23-year-old signed for the club last Friday on a loan until the end of the campaign, with the club also having the option of making it a permanent deal at the end of the year for a fee over £20m.

Plenty of fans responded on Twitter to the report which was posted by The Chronicle’s Newcastle United account.

Despite it coming across as reasonably positive news, the response from fans did not suggest that they were ready to welcome him permanently just yet.

As you can read below, many want him to prove himself in the black and white stripes just before they get carried away with talks of a full-time deal.

Here are some of the replies below…

With Lazaro being able to play all down the right flank, the club have been able to add someone who can play in multiple positions, which will no doubt be handy given the number of injuries the club have had this season.

Since moving to Inter from Hertha Berlin in the summer, he has only managed to be a bit-part player for the club, playing just six league games. Fans will be hoping that he will be motivated to put things right after that unsuccessful move.
