Plenty of Newcastle United fans on Twitter have remembered an all-important goal from a former icon in Jonas Gutierrez.
The Twitter account @Toonarmy_com tweeted day 18 of their ‘NUFC Advent Calendar’, where they essentially select a player every day leading up to Christmas based on their shirt number for the club. The chosen player then has a video shared of them with a little caption, and with today being the 18th, Jonas Gutierrez was the man chosen by the account.
Gutierrez might not describe himself as a club ‘legend‘, however, many fans would disagree as they have a lot of love for the passionate Argentinian.

He played an impressive 205 games in Newcastle’s midfield, registering 12 goals and 27 assists. Furthermore, in May 2015 he scored a crucial goal for the club in his final game, ensuring that his side stayed in the division. It made it all the more special that the player had returned to football in just March following treatment for testicular cancer.
That goal was the clip chosen by the account, and you can see exactly just how much it meant to the fans in the replies, with some describing it as one of their best moments at the club…

The midfielder is still playing in his homeland Argentina at the ripe age of 36.
After a spell in Spain following his departure from Tyneside he opted to go back to Argentina and now finds himself at Banfield.
