Lots of Newcastle fans have had their say on Twitter over the ambitious rumour that the club are interested in signing Olivier Giroud.
According to reports from the Telegraph, the Magpies are wanting to sign the Frenchman on loan for the rest of the season.
The story goes onto state that he will not be able to leave the club unless Chelsea can find another replacement, something journalist Luke Edwards says is ‘likely to infuriate Giroud’.
Allegedly, the World Cup winner is wanting to get as much first-team football under his belt so that he can feature for his country in the upcoming Euros.
The Telegraphs sources have stated that the Magpies have made contact with the Blues last week, however, they were told there is ‘no chance’ at this stage.
Is Joelinton our 'most underrated' player?
Yes
No
Fans from the North East very much like the sound of the idea – as you can read below – but many of them are still slightly sceptical to whether they can get it over the line.
Here are some of what fans are saying on Twitter about the potential signing…
Definitely have him cracking striker won’t cost 40 million either and will definitely score goals

In a heartbeat, a proven PL striker. But I don’t think he’d fancy being at Newcastle at all

Would be class but there is no chance

Would take him all day. He would struggle though as we cant put 3 passes together without losing ball.

With goals an obvious problem at Newcastle, it is reported that the club are after another striker.
So far this season, only one goal has come from a striker in the league, and that was the £40m man Joelinton.
Bruce may be keen to take a bit of limelight off the Brazillian, with many fans chanting ‘you’re not fit to wear the shirt’ during their match versus Rochdale on the weekend.
