Newcastle fans have become used to not taking the cup competitions seriously over the course of Steve Brice’s ownership, and now it seems that they’re expecting more nonchalance in the cup, as they have plenty of injury concerns.
Newcastle with real injury concerns. Lascelles, Schär, Joelinton, Almiron, Atsu, Shelvey all doubts for Leicester tomorrow night. Saint-Maximin out with his hamstring injury.

Leicester City travel to face the Magpies at St. James’ Park, and with Keith Downie reeling off the club’s injury list, the fans have little faith that they’ll be bothering with the cups this year.
Last season saw the Geordies fall to both Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup second round and Watford in the FA Cup 4th round, and it seems they’re not expecting much more to happen this season.

That’s a perfect situation for the club though. Good excuse for a lack of a cup run again

The Geordies are clearly far from happy that they seem to be forfeiting a cup run again, and will hope they can somehow pull through.
