Many Newcastle fans have reacted on Twitter to a video of a half-full St James’ Park at the end of their match against Leicester.
Leicester fan Ryan Murrant tweeted the video and described it as ‘such a shame’, stating that the fans ‘deserve better.’
This is such a shame in so many ways. The best ground in the country, the noisiest away fans you get but at home there is no atmosphere and nobody left in the stadium before the game is over. The people up there are friendly, love their club and deserve better #nufc pic.twitter.com/p9M2bL11yI

The Magpies slumped to a 3-0 defeat in front of their home fans as four of their players got injured during the match, while James Maddison, Hamza Choudhury and former player Ayoze Perez all got on the scoresheet, with thanks to a couple of errors from Newcastle’s defence.
Unsurprisingly, fans were pretty dejected and many didn’t make it until the end of the game.
Did you leave the stadium before full-time?
I would have
Yes
No
I would not have
Lots of United fans replied angrily to Ryan Murrant’s tweet, with many taking a hit at the ownership of Mike Ashley, as you can read below.
has turned the place into a graveyard.

We do deserve better, but if our fans aren’t willing to take a stand against Ashley en masse then we deserve him. Supporters are won over by short term bursts of good form and for as long as that’s the case, he’s here to stay.

The atmosphere took a drastic dip this year, people are sick of the club and thus are leaving, they tried to boost numbers by giving away season tickets but it isn’t really working

That’s not usual by any means. Today feels like a bit of a watershed moment for the club…

After three losses on the bounce, Newcastle all of a sudden do not seem too far away from the relegation zone, though they do have a five-point buffer on Bournemouth in 18th place.
With some difficult games coming up for them in the Premier League in Wolves, Chelsea and Everton, Steve Bruce could really do with a win to lift the spirits. Although, with 11 of the first-team currently injured, that might be a lot easier said than done.
