The Toon Army Showing Their Love

|

This morning, The Chronicle have reported that there are only a few seats remaining for Saturday’s game at St James’ Park.

Only a few seats remaining ….. for a friendly ….. in winter. That’s phenomenal when you think about it.

The mid-season break for the World Cup has starved people of club football when things were just starting to heat up in the Premier League. Newcastle went into the break sitting in third place in the table having only tasted defeat once all season, and that was in extremely controversial circumstances.

I think if you spoke to Newcastle fans, 99% of them would have preferred the season to continue in lieu of the World Cup, which, let’s be honest, has been a complete farce from start to finish.

Time will tell if the break halts our momentum or if it has given us a bit of extra time for Eddie Howe to nail down his tactics and get the team into yet another gear, but one more test remains before we return to competitive action on 20th December against Bournemouth (the fixture has been brought forward 24 hours).

Rayo Vallecano visit St James’ Park on Saturday for a 12:30pm kick off to put the Magpies through their paces one last time before the season gets underway again. And going off what The Chronicle is reporting, it seems that the Toon Army can’t wait to see their beloved club back in action and are set to fill St James’ Park to roll out the welcome wagon.

You get clubs that can’t sell out their stadium for important league games, then you get the Toon Army who sell theirs out for a freezing friendly.

Come watch live tonight (Tuesday) at 8pm and watch us lay into the farce of the World Cup
