“The Pressure Is On Tottenham” – Newcastle Striker Is Full Of Confidence For Sunday

|

Newcastle face a tough test on Sunday as they head down to the Big Smoke to take on Antonio Conte’s Tottenham.

Spurs go into the game off the back of a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford with the Magpies going into the game following a 1-0 win against Everton.

It’s this contrast in form that makes Callum Wilson think that Newcastle have the upper hand according to the Mail Online. Wilson said: “For us as a team, it’s really important to keep getting positive results, keep the momentum,

“We’ve gone to Man United, picked up a positive result then won at home, so you could say the pressure isn’t on us and the pressure is on Tottenham.”

Newcastle find themselves five points behind their hosts having won two fewer games, however, Spurs have lost one more game than Newcastle who still only have that controversial defeat to Liverpool on their record this season.

Would A Win On Sunday Be A Bigger Statement Than The City Game?

Definitely

Nah, we were immense against City

Eddie Howe has got Newcastle playing attractive football, even when they’re not at their best, but through bad luck or poor judgement in attack, Newcastle have racked up six draws already this season and we need to start turning these into wins. We’ve often dominated possession, and got all the small things right, even against the “bigger” teams. We fear nobody, we know we have what it takes to get the big results – if only the match officials would let us instead of making dumb calls that impact the result.

Sunday is our chance to announce ourselves as contenders with a win over Tottenham. A win against one of the “big six” will show that we belong in the top 6 of the table and that we plan on staying there.
