Lots of Newcastle fans have had their say on Twitter about the news that Ademola Lookman is not available for a loan deal in this window.
The Chronicle have reported that the young winger is only going to be allowed on a permanent transfer despite barely featuring for RB Leipzig so far this campaign.
The report states that the player is a genuine target for the Magpies, however, it is believed that he will only be allowed for at least the fee they paid for him – somewhere around £22m.
Leipzig director Oliver Mitzlaff told Sky Germany (via the Chroincle): “It was certainly not an easy first round for him.
“Nonetheless, we believe in him and his quality. So we will certainly not loan Ademola Lookman.
“Ademola is a player who has already proven to us that he has a lot of quality.”
Would you buy Ademola Lookman for £22m?
No, that's too expensive
Yes, he will be good for years to come
If the price was lowered slightly
NUFC Blog reported on Sky Sports claiming that they will have to pay over £22m for the player, which makes the situation rather clear for Newcastle – cough up or look elsewhere.
The Chronicle’s Newcastle Twitter account tweeted about the news, to which many fans replied with their personal opinions.
There was a pretty mixed response, with many suggesting that this is typical of the club to be linked to a good player and then not be able to back it up.
Here are some of the replies below…
It’s not really a set back though is it

There have been many links so far this window, but none have yet come to prevail.
It’s clear the attacking options is where Toon want to bolster, but over halfway into the window nothing looks particularly close, so it could come right down to the wire.
