Plenty of Newcastle United fans have been reacting in anger to Sean Longstaff’s comments about manager Steve Bruce.

The club are currently awaiting a report from the World Trade Organisation about Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and their involvement in alleged pirate television in the Middle East, which could throw the £300m takeover into serious doubt.

With Mauricio Pochettino and Rafael Benitez linked with a move into the hot seat, this has left Bruce’s future up in the air despite being intensely scrutinised by the fans when he took the job.

Will Steve Bruce be Newcastle manager next season?

Speaking to the Epic Podcast, Longstaff, who was linked with a £50m move to Manchester United earlier in the season, believes that Bruce deserves a chance to prove himself as the manager if the takeover does go through.

With this in mind, supporters were not pleased with Longstaff’s comments and made their feelings clear on social media. Several fans told him to “shut up” and pleaded to “get rid”, while another said that his judgments were “completely wrong”.
