Many Newcastle United fans have been reacting to reports that retail tycoon Mike Ashley has invested a 10% stake into designer clothing company Hugo Boss.
According to the Chronicle Live, Fraser’s Group has invested around Β£186m in June on just over 7m shares in the German fashion chain.
The fans are desperate to hear answers, having been left in the dark regarding the club’s Β£300m proposed takeover by the Saudi-based Public Investment Fund (PIF). It remains to be seen whether this will make a difference to the deal.
Will Mike Ashley's stake in HB have an effect on the takeover?

The Sports Direct owner is a hated figure among the St James’ Park faithful after making a series of controversial decisions over the years. Lately, he refused to communicate to fans on refunding tickets following the temporary suspension of the 2019/20 campaign.
Taking this into consideration, supporters were not convinced by Ashley’s actions and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan believes that any chance of the season ticket money being refunded to fans has now gone.
