Many Newcastle United fans have reacted on Twitter after rumours have circulated linking them to Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard.

According to reports in the Daily Star, Newcastle boss Steve Bruce sees the Frenchman as one of his top targets after keeping in contact with his recruitment team over the past few weeks via video link.

Allegedly, with Joelinton only scoring one goal during the whole league campaign, Edouard is the man they want to sort out the team’s goalscoring problems.

In fact, despite being 13th in the table, no team has scored fewer goals than the Magpies, with only Norwich scoring as many as they have – 25 goals in 29 games.

The 22-year-old is valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, however, the article states that a deal worth more than £30m would leave the Glaswegian side with no option but to accept the deal.

With the Daily Star’s word getting out about Edouard, the Chronicle – a sister website of the Daily Star – also reported on the story.
