The January transfer window has only just closed but Newcastle are already being linked with players again.
It was a pretty decent window in the end for the club, even if they didn’t get anyone on a permanent basis. In Danny Rose, Nabil Bentaleb and Valentino Lazaro, they have added Champions League experience in three different areas.
Now, it seems as if the club are looking to the Championship for one of their next targets – the in form Brentford star Said Benrahma.
It could be a tall ask to bring him in, though, with The Sun reporting that Leicester City are also wanting the player that could cost around the £15m-mark.

The 24-year-old managed to bag a hat-trick on the weekend as Thomas Frank’s side blew away Hull City 5-1.

This one looks so far off at the moment that there really isn’t too much need to speculate about it.
With his record of eight goals and six assists from 26 league games being one of the best for goal contributions in the division, you can see why the club have targeted him.
Nevertheless, whether the club can snap him up or not might well depend on their promotion push and how well he gets on for the second half of the season, which are two pretty hard to call variables at the moment.
