Many Newcastle supporters have been reacting on social media after Football League World linked United with Birmingham City striker Che Adams.
It is alleged that a source close to the player told Football League World that we are very strong admirers of the 22-year-old, and watched him in action a number of times towards the end of the Championship campaign.
It would not be the first time that our scouts have been sent to cast judgement on the Leicester-born attacker either, as it was alleged in 2014 that we would regularly check on his progress while competing for non-league side Ilkeston FC.
We were also reportedly in attendance of several Birmingham fixtures during February, at a time when Arsenal, Celtic, Manchester United, Tottenham, Everton and Bournemouth were being linked.
Now, Football League World claim Rafa Benitez has his eyes fixed on Adams, in case we are unable to retain the services of Salomon Rondon with West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers chasing the West Bromwich Albion attacker.
They do not suggest that a move is on the cards, or that Adams’ name is even in discussions at St James’ Park, which makes sense with the gaffer’s contract set to expire on June 30.
How much a transfer would set us back, though, has been reported in the past, with Birmingham thought to value their 22 goal, five assist Championship striker at £20million.
So when it was then shared on Twitter that Newcastle are supposedly looking at Adams again, this is how these United fans reacted…
Prepare for Championship life ?

Decent tbf, the two names we have been linked with look like young, exciting talent.

Is this with the help of the magic ‘radar’ we keep hearing about?

Ideal for our championship season in 2020/21

Not the type of signing I was expecting with all the takeover news #mbappe

I’m sorry but with the takeover talk and situation with Rafa’s contract rumbling on, I find this one insignificant in the grand scheme of things ????

What is the point in looking at players when we do not know who our manager or owner is going to be next season?

Sounds like the type of signing a billionaire owner would be interested in pursuing.
