Positive Striker News Emerges

|

As Newcastle’s frustrations in the transfer market grow, there has been a possible light at the end of the tunnel – albeit a guy waving around a torch with a flat battery, but it’s better than nothing.

Dean Jones from GiveMeSport has heard that Alexander Isak has been told he can leave Real Sociedad in this window … for the right price.

Isak who is currently top of Eddie Howe’s striker wishlist according to The Telegraph has said he’d be open to a move to the Premier League and has a £70m release clause in his current contract – although that figure could be out of the PIF’s price range as they take a frugal approach to their first summer transfer window.

Should We Break The Bank For Isak?

No - Too risky

Yes - He has the talent

Although it is widely agreed that Isak is an exceptional talent, he didn’t have the best of seasons last time around, only notching six goals in La Liga which is another reason clubs may be reluctant to fork out such a hefty sum. In fact, it was recently reported that Newcastle had moved on due to the cost of the deal.

Speaking to GiveMeSport about Isak, Jones said: “Alexander Isak has been told he can leave, but only at the right price.

“He is very open-minded about the situation, but I’m told he does have his eye on the Premier League. Obviously, there is the Newcastle link, but we could yet see others make a play for him”
