‘Oh my days this has to be the worst home strip ever’ – Lots of Newcastle fans judge leaked kit

|

The Premier League season only drew to a close a week-and-a-half ago, but attentions have firmly already turned to next term, as one user on Reddit has shared what may well be our kits for the 2019/20 campaign.

It features thick black-and-white stripes down the front and a solid black back, in a roundabout nod to our 2001-2003 kit that Alan Shearer scored 40 of his record 260 Premier League goals in.

It is more so a throwback that era than our 2011/12 kit, which saw Northern Rock sponsorship dropped halfway through the campaign for Virgin Money branding, as the potential strip for next term has solid black sleeves to match the back rather than white to tie in the stripes down the chest.

The kit, should it be the leaked design or not, will likely be officially released in the next six weeks.

It is not the first time this design has emerged, though, as Ofoball, via the Chronicle, had shared renders of the strip earlier in the year among a batch of other potential patterns and templates Puma may opt for.

We are only signed up to use the German sporting goods and merchandise manufacturer for another year, though, so the 2020/21 season may see the Magpies take on a much better look, as the kit Puma seem to have in store for us has not been received overly well online…
