Newcastle have added Danny Rose to the list of their January signings – and he has already made himself a hit with the fans.
The signing was announced by the club yesterday, with The Chronicle reporting that they have the player on loan for the rest of the season on a £2m loan fee.
With Jetro Willems and Paul Dummett injured for the rest of the season, cover was certainly needed at left-back, though few could have predicted they would be able to pick up a Champions League finalist for the second half of the campaign.
Steve Bruce himself described the England international as a “big coup” for the club, but according to the player, he didn’t need much convincing to come here.

In fact, he needed no convincing whatsoever. Upon signing for the club, the player revealed that as soon as Willems got injured and he realised the club needed a left-sided defender, he was on the phone to his agent and tried to get him to sort the deal.

This is a deal that fans are sure to get excited over. Not only has he got 183 Premier League appearances and 29 England caps, but he also might well be extremely motivated to try and secure a place within the squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 tournament.
