Loads of Newcastle United fans have been left reeling after a fresh takeover twist emerged over the weekend.
According to the Daily Mail, the Premier League will seek further answers from Saudi’s public investment fund (PIF) about TV pirate issues in the Middle Eastern country.
PIF agreed to buy 80% of the northeast outfit from Mike Ashley over two months ago, meaning the top-flight have sat on the decision for much longer than expected.
It’s claimed that the consortium has already faced a barrage of queries about beoutQ, a pirate satellite streaming service that illegally broadcasts sporting events, including the Premier League, to its customers.
Do you think the takeover will happen?
Yes, be patient!
No, Ashley ploy!
The Guardian revealed that a World Trade Organisation report had found the Saudi state to be involved in the service, thus creating this problem.
Now that there’s seemingly a further delay to the situation, fans have been reacting in their droves on social media.
Some members of the St James’ Park faithful were “bored” of the process, which is quite understandable given just how long it has already taken whilst others were starting to worry if the deal would even happen.

Rejecting the deal on the piracy issues is a no win for anyone passing it brings the saudis to the table to work with the league

In my opinion if we don’t hear anything in two weeks it’s done.
The main thing halting all of this was the restart, that’s happening this week so if we don’t get any further forward it’s off

Is anyone even bothered anymore?

I’ve always said…if PL approve the deal they solve the piracy issues as they will have control to a degree as #nufc change ownership. But, the longer this does to on, it does set more doubt in my mind as to what the PL are seeking to achieve

Could it be another propaganda stunt from mike Ashley so he doesn’t have to refund the season tickets.

Itβs been a lie from the start, there wonβt be a takeover, just another ploy by Cashley to sell season tickets Iβm afraid
