A recent tweet from the Telegraph’s Luke Edwards has angered many Newcastle United supporters this week.
The reliable Magpies correspondent has criticised the buying side involved in their prospective takeover by questioning their belief that there would be no red flags even though there was evidently a “massive one” being discovered.
He said:
We knew this was the problem didn’t we? It’s like when the buyers kept saying no red flags. There was a massive one of those as soon as this began and we discovered this below. More than that, the PL have supported every single attempt to take legal action by others too. https://t.co/VP8XwCxT1D

It’s led to many fans taking a swipe at Edwards as they perceive him to jump on anything negative surrounding the deal, thus questioning his agenda when it comes to the northeast outfit.
There were also worries increasing over whether the takeover will actually be happening.
What will happen first?
Takeover approved
19/20 season complete
The decision on the Saudi bid has been in the hands of the Premier League’s owners and directors test for nearly two months now and ever since then, constant reports have hinted at there being ‘serious doubts’ over issues of piracy, human rights and more.
Much of the St James’ Park faithful are becoming increasingly tired of the situation as each week passes by without any official confirmation.
Here’s how our supporters have been reacting to his tweet…
Luke may I ask why do you always jump on anything negative?

So why don’t they reject it then if it’s as clear as you imply ?

Luke will have his #cans if the Saudis don’t buy us. I think he will be disappointed

You’d love it to fall through, Luke. You really do brighten up my evenings. Bundle of joy.

just proof there is no news. nobody has a clue what is happening. we wait..
— Phil (@Seubz) June 9, 2020
If this was really an issue the PL would have rejected outright. They haven’t.

@stevewraith @RedRoseMichelle @GeorgeCaulkin @SkySports_Keith @PeteGravesTV do you think this is a problem and luke is talking sence
— Deanskelton (@Deanskelton1990) June 9, 2020
The pl cannot take this long and then reject it. The fallout for them will be horrific from our fans who will no doubt be the victims of Ashley’s tantrum
— John Tankard (@JohnTankard1) June 9, 2020
You kept saying no red flags Luke!
— Richard Armstrong (@richard_a85) June 10, 2020
Lol not a chance this is going through
— Vickers (@TinoVickers) June 9, 2020
Pathetic, if the premier league no there is red flags why are they putting the toon fans through this, they are probably enjoying it like many others. WTO report apparently has evidence of piracy by the Saudis, but if it’s not by any of the PIF what can they do.

I’ve given up on it.
