Plenty of Newcastle United supporters were left reeling on Tuesday after another new development emerged in the takeover saga.
Several Magpies reporters revealed that American businessman Henry Mauriss had tabled a £350m offer to purchase the club, should the Saudi Arabian-backed deal fall through.
It’s claimed that the Spurs fan is waiting in the wings at the eleventh hour.
However, the news hasn’t gone down well with members of the St James’ Park faithful with many slamming the accuracy of the claim, given the Clear TV mogul has had 13 years to purchase the club from tumultuous owner Mike Ashley.
One word to describe how you feel about the takeover?
Excited
Bored
Thrilled
Anxious
Others have blasted the situation for becoming “ridiculous” and as “absolute nonsense,” there was even a shout for it being a PR stunt from the Sports Direct chief.
Either way, it’s yet another piece of information that doesn’t aid the concerns that are brewing in the northeast. The Premier League have sat on a decision for two months, thus allowing such worries to creep in with what appears to be weekly reports on doubts over the deal.
Here’s how our fanbase have reacted to this latest twist…

Exactly. Stinks of a move by Qatar to push the PL into rejecting the Saudi takeover, or of Ashley trying to get the PL to hurry up.

Dead in the water, he has been investigated for fraud in the past, his business associate who tried brokering this deal has served time in prison for fraud. Absolute chancers

Stinks of Keith Bishop this one. I wish you journalists would use your common sense with stories like this and not spread them so all the easily lead fans don’t have to stress out.

It’s Ashley and his news outlets
