Newcastle Unit have been linked to yet another takeover in recent days, but it seems nobody is going to get excited due to the many near misses they’ve experienced recently.
It looks like there is nothing fans want more than a change of ownership, yet there is no point in getting your hopes over something which isn’t going to come true.
The report comes via MediaUKI, who state that the Qatar Sport Investment group (QSI) – the group that owns PSG – are in talks with Mike Ashley in regards to a potential takeover and “are ready to give Mike Ashley an offer he can’t refuse”.
Newcastle were recently linked to a takeover involving the Saudi sovereign wealth fund, however, talks of a £345m takeover have cooled over the past month or so, making it look like an unlikely possibility.
Bearing the previous in mind, and the lack of other sources reporting this specific takeover, it doesn’t seem as if many fans are getting carried away this time.
Here are some of the responses below…

At least for the Saudi Arabian investment there were concrete rumours coming out from more than just one source.
There are not many other reports of this takeover, so fans will not want to be left with egg on their faces again by getting excited about something which isn’t going to happen.
