Newcastle United ace Miguel Almiron has sent a message to football fans around the world urging them to stay at home amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The club’s £21million former record signing shared a three-word message to supporters through Paraguay’s official Twitter account, at a time the world continues to try and get a grip of the crisis which has claimed the lives of more than 8,000 people globally.
It is claimed that more than 200,000 cases have been confirmed around the world, with in excess of 82,000 recovering.
China is the most-effected country with more than 80,000 cases, while the United Kingdom is only behind Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands among European countries.
The situation showing no signs of easing yet has resulted in sporting events around the world and across stipulations being put on ice, while Euro 2020 is among the latest to be postponed with UEFA pushing the tournament back to 2021.
The South American footballing body CONMEBOL also confirmed that this year’s Copa America will now take place next year, and 26-time Paraguay international Almiron has urged fans to stay at home to help limit the spread of coronavirus.

Paraguay’s Health Minister Julio Mazzoleni has already suspended public school sessions and large-scale events after two cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the country.
