Meanwhile, Down In London Guess Who Just Can’t Stop Scoring

|

The 2018 / 2019 season has not started well for Newcastle United.

Six games in and the support has yet to witness a victory, leaving the club sat in a relegation place.

Fears are already emerging that, unless things change quickly, Newcastle could spend this season in a relegation battle.

So far, this season, Newcastle have scored just FOUR goals, clearly scoring is a major concern as Rafael Benitez looks to take the side forward, although some might point out that creating chances for the forwards to take could also be a problem.

In the summer, the club brought in the Japanese striker Muto, as well as deciding that swapping, via the loan system, Dwight Gayle for Salomon Rondon, was a wise move.

But, in hindsight, perhaps the biggest mistake was letting Aleksandar Mitrovic leave the club.

The 23-year-old Serbian was allowed to leave the club, on a permanent basis, to join Fulham, where he continues to prosper.

Six games into the season, Mitrovic tops the Premier League scoring charts with FIVE goals, playing for a Fulham side that are only three points better off than us at this stage of the season.

I wonder if anybody, behind the scenes, is thinking that they just might have got that deal wrong, or are they just too busy counting the money the club received for the developing striker?
