Magpies Readying “Monster” Bid For Striker

Victor Osimhen isn’t a new name to Toon fans, but since rumours surfaced about Newcastle’s interest, two Premier League heavyweights have joined the conversation with both Arsenal and Manchester United looking at the striker.

The Express claim that Newcastle are willing to make a “monster” bid to bring the Nigerian to Tyneside after Chris Wood failed to bag the goals expected following his January switch from Burnley.

However, it’s suggested that Osimhen is content to stay at Napoli over a move to Newcastle, preferring to move to a top-six club in the Premier League if he was to move at all. Although Arsenal or Manchester United are yet to make a move, it’s believed that either of those clubs would be a preferred destination.

With Arsenal close to landing their priority target in Gabriel Jesus, it’s unlikely that they will look to splash the cash on another forward, whereas Manchester United’s transfer plans don’t seem to include the Nigerian at this stage.

Whether this lack of interest combined with a hefty bid will be enough to turn Osimhen’s head remains to be seen. Hopefully, that will be the case as his goalscoring record is incredible. He has 15 goals in 22 appearances for Nigeria and bagged 24 goals in all competitions for Napoli last term.

Looks like there’s a lot of work to do if this one is to go anywhere, but this is the kind of player that can take our club to the next level.
