Newcastle To Call On Jesus?

|

HITC have today reported that Newcastle United might be gearing up to challenge Arsenal for the signature of Manchester City forward, Gabriel Jesus.

While Jesus has found fantastic form in the second half of this season, his place is very much under threat with the imminent arrival of Erling Haaland, and with only a year left on his contract, Pep Guardiola will be looking to cash in on the Brazilian striker.

Arsenal were said to be in pole position to land the forward, however, after Newcastle put a sizeable dent in their Champions League ambitions, it is believed that they might now have to reconsider their transfer plans if they lose out on that Champions League windfall.

Jesus will no doubt be aware of the big changes on Tyneside as well as the Brazilian revoltion that’s a big part of it with the rejuvinated Joelinton and the brilliant Bruno Guimaraes already on the books, and with Lucas Paqueta hotly tipped to join them.

With Callum Wilson’s spotty injury record and the Toon Army yet to be convinced by Chris Wood, bringing in a striker with proven Premier League goal scoring ability would be seen as a huge indication of the club’s ambitions.

While the likes of Darwin Nunez might seem like a more exciting prospect, you can’t put a price on how valuable Premier League experience is, and if Jesus can continue his current form with his next club, wherever he ends up, somebody will be gaining a valuable asset.
