There has been much in the press about Valentino Lazaro since Newcastle United were linked to the player in early January, with much of it coming from his agent.

However, this time it is a different agent speaking about the 23-year-old, with Pasquale Sensible, a director of P&P Sports Management, stating that the player is only likely to improve, even if Newcastle is not a top club, according to reports from TMW (via Sport Witness).

The Austrian international moved to Tyneside in January after a small saga which saw the player close to joining Bundesliga chasing RB Leipzig.

According to the Sports Witness story, Leipzig could not meet the demands of Inter Milan, which sent Lazaro’s agent back to Newcastle to complete the deal.

With Inter also chasing their domestic division, he has admitted that his intentions remain on a return to Milan, despite the Magpies having the option of signing him permanently in the summer.

Despite Hagmayr Sport Management being the player’s main agent, Sensible still weighed in with his opinion on the situation.

He said: “Inter studied him before taking him, one of his peculiarities is his tactical flexibility. The performance of Candreva and D’Ambrosio on the outside could have affected Conte’s considerations and decisions.

“The move to England? I don’t think there is another league like the Premier, in which all the matches are played evenly by teams like Newcastle, which is not a top club. Valentino can only improve, also given his age.”

While it’s too early to tell whether or not this was the right move for the player, the Toon will be delighted that he has come to the club.

So far, he has featured for 36 minutes against Norwich in their 0-0 draw in the league, playing at right-back, proving the versatility of the player who is capable of playing all down the right flank.

Sensible’s comments are hardly offensive, and it’s not as if Newcastle fans can really argue with them considering the club’s performances over the past 10 years or so.
