Newcastle United had something else to celebrate on Monday evening as we took victory over Burnley.
Heading to Turf Moor for the game it was an eventful evening as kickoff was originally delayed as one of the matchday officiating team (assessor) collapsed in the tunnel and was unfortunately taken to hospital, but he was conscious after he was taken ill and should thankfully be okay.
It was eventful on the pitch as well as a Ben Mee own goal four minutes in gifted us the advantage and Ciaran Clark doubled that to 2-0 just ahead of the 25-minute mark. The hosts did get one back through Sam Vokes, but we held on for our third straight victory moving us up into 13th place in the table.
Mohamed Diame’s individual display in the game had some fans waxing lyrical about his efforts given the criticism he has faced at times this year.
I presume that's including the times he has tackled himself ????

Anyone thinking they see a Shelvey / Ki midfield absolutely no chance given the job Mo Diame does for this team, which goes a lot without praise #nufc
