Many Newcastle United fans were overjoyed with the latest update regarding the proposed takeover bid.
The Magpies could soon have new owners with a £300m bid underway to take the Premier League club out of the hands of retail tycoon Mike Ashley.
According to The Times, the deal is now done as Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) plan to take 80% of the club, with the remaining 20% being split between Amanda Staveley’s PCP Capital Partners and British businessmen, the Reuben brothers.

The St James’ Park faithful have been displeased with the leadership of Ashley’s regime for many years but attempts to oust him have not succeeded. The fact that Rafa Benitez left the club in the summer was the latest in a string of incidents that have upset us over the years.
Because of this, supporters could not contain their excitement and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he is “dreaming”, in complete disbelief that Ashley could be on his way out, while another believes that it’s “finally happening”.
