Newcastle fans have got a lot of time for Miguel Almiron. As far as they’re concerned the player gives his all and the goals and assists will come sooner or later, which is why they’ve been quick to defend him.

The Chronicle have done a round-up of the national papers who have been writing about the club, and one of those was critical of Almiron, leading to plenty of the Geordies getting behind their midfield man and defending him.
It’s true that goals and assists haven’t come yet for the midfielder, but the former MLS man is young, still adapting to the Premier League and playing in a very defensive Newcastle side, so the fans are eager to give him time and defend the Paraguayan.
You can read the Magpies’ thoughts on Almiron here:
Gives 100% every time he steps on a pitch
Has adapted to the physicality of the Prem
Looks to play positive attacking football
Involved in the build up to most of our key chances and goals
A lot of people need to watch him play and not just judge his stats…

No. Most ridiculous statement ever.

Aye totally fair. Blame one boy that’s came from a different continent and is trying to acclimatise to football in a different country. Not an owner who would rather wreck the club and hire completely inept management.

Unbelievable. Plenty lapping it up, too.

Give the lad a break he never stops running on that football pitch

Absolutely ridiculous. Stop peddling this utter nonsense.

The Geordies have been very quick to jump to defend Almiron, and are far from pleased that some media outlets have made the move to criticise their South American star.
