Five Games In And We’re Still Waiting For That First Elusive Win, Saturday Might Be The Day

|

Five games into the 2018 / 2019 season and things are far from rosy for Newcastle United.

From those five games we’ve managed to accumulate just the one point, a draw away to newly promoted Cardiff City.

Okay, I’ll acknowledge that we’ve had a tough run of fixtures, especially at home where we’ve faced three of the big-six Premier League clubs already.

But, there’s no disputing it, we need to get that first win under our belts pretty quickly, otherwise the pressure will increase ten-fold and we could be in for a bleak winter.

This weekend, after playing three London clubs at St James Park, we venture to London to take on Crystal Palace, at Selhurst Park.

On paper it looks a far easier game than we’ve faced in the first-five fixtures, except possibly the trip to Cardiff, but Palace, under the managerial acumen of Roy Hodgson, will be no pushovers, especially if Wilfried Zaha is fit enough to play.

Ahead of the game, we’d like you to participate in our poll which simply asks you to predict the result:

My opinion is that Newcastle will get a point, I can’t see us losing but, then again, I can’t see us winning.

Do you concur with my views or disagree with them?

The results of the poll will reveal all.
