Loads of Newcastle United fans have been reacting on social media after the Daily Mail claimed Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in Allan Saint-Maximin.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is thought to be searching the market for potential replacements for Adama Traore, with some of Europe’s elite clubs considering a summer raid on Molineux for the Barcelona product.

Real Madrid and their La Liga rivals Barca are two of the clubs said to have an interest in Traore, who is valued around the £70million mark after impressing scouts with his five goals and ten assists across all competitions this season.

Traore’s future at Molineux remains unclear with Wolves yet to decide if they will look to cash in this summer, however preparations are starting to fall into place for the potential eventuality that the 24-year-old does leave.

Wolves chiefs are willing to back Espirito Santo in the transfer market to find a suitable replacement and would be interested in Saint-Maximin’s situation, as the Frenchman has proven to be a big hit at St. James’ Park since his arrival last year.

Saint-Maximin was one of three players signed in permanent deals last summer outside of free agents, with the club striking a £16.5m agreement with Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice that could rise to a potential £20m.

That investment has returned one goal and two assists in 16 Premier League matches, amid what has been a heavily disrupted campaign for the 5 ft 8 ace who was sidelined with hamstring issues early on and again over the festive period.

But when fit, Saint-Maximin has proven to be as important to the side’s performances as any other player and would leave a sizable void at St. James’ Park if he were to leave in the summer.

Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to Wolves’ interest in Saint-Maximin…
