Loads of Newcastle United fans have been reacting on social media after Burnley manager Sean Dyche gave his view on the Toon ahead of our Premier League clash this Saturday.

Dyche’s Clarets will travel to St. James’ Park on Saturday afternoon looking to do the double over us following their 1-0 triumph at Turf Moor in December, where the Magpies failed to produce a single shot on target.

Producing in front of the net has continued to be a serious issue for United since our festive encounter in Lancashire, having scored just seven goals in the ten top-flight fixtures played – only Norwich City (six) have scored fewer.

We also managed just two shots on target (25%) against Crystal Palace last time out, two on target against Arsenal (20%) and five on target against Norwich (33.3%) as we failed to score in three successive matches.

Dyche is confident that how Steve Bruce sets Newcastle out to tackle this weekend’s clash may be what sets the tone for the affair.

What will the result be at home to Burnley?

“They have been up and down [this season],” the Burnley boss said, via quotes by Lancashire Live. “His [Bruce’s] teams are always competitive, so I wouldn’t expect anything less than that. The feel of the game will be important.

“We go there in good shape ourselves and that is the real focus. You have to be aware of the opposition and will they come out all guns blazing or will they be a bit nervous? We will wait and see.

“One thing we can control and want to control is our performance and our side of the game and that is what we will focus on doing.”

Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to our Premier League rival’s comments…

In other Newcastle United news, the club continue to chase a 25y/o attacker on course to set a new club-record.
