The Toon are without Babayaro and Duff as they face what will no doubt be a tough match against Everton.

Given and Solano face late checks on their groin injuries and it is likely that the Newcastle side will once again have a makeshift feel about it.

But Glenn Roeder will hope that the team sprit so evident in recent performances will be able to lift the side.

Everton, who start the day in 8th, 3 points above Newcastle, welcome back Phil “Look at my beard” Neville after suspension, while Alan Stubbs faces a late fitness test.

Glenn Roeder

It’s very tight with the teams just above us – and that’s what we have to be looking at.
‘Since David Moyes has been at Everton it’s been one of the most difficult places to go and get a result.

‘But it’s a good stadium. are a big club and it’s a game our players will be looking forward to.’
