Drunk Grealish Takes A Swipe At Miggy

|

Manchester City and England star, Jack Grealish took a completely uncalled for swipe at Toon midfielder, Miguel Almiron during City’s title winning celebrations.

In a video clip doing the rounds on twitter, Grealish (26) took aim at Riyad Mahrez’s sup-par performance on the final day, an extremely inebriated Grealish likened Mahrez’s display to Newcastle’s Paraguay international, Miguel Almiron.

Newcastle fans know full well that Miggy does have a propensity to run about like a chicken with his head cut off culminating in a poor decision – but that’s our cross to bear and we, as Newcastle fans, are allowed to be critical. Grealish, my dear boy, there was no need to bring Miggy into it.

Almiron during Newcastle’s Lap Of Honour

In fact, sunshine, if Mahrez was “Playing like Almiron” and Pep still kept him on instead of bringing you on, what does that say about you, eh? EH?

In all seriousness, it was a pretty funny quip by Grealish and it’s hard to get super defensive about it. It hasn’t exactly clicked for for England playmaker this season but he remains an outstanding talent and will be key to any success England may have in Qatar in the World Cup.

Almiron has put in a couple of decent performances in the last few games of the season (howling miss against Burnley aside), but the big question is, has he done enough to play his way into Eddie Howe’s plans for next season?
